kitties have scent glands in their paws and the sides of their faces. they rub these onto various things, material surfaces, as a way of "claiming" or "marking" them (notice how nora rubs her face against the piano key surfaces several times in the video). they often fixate on things that smell especially like their favorite humans...say...an object that said human touches frequently, like the keys of a piano. (this particular cat's human is a piano teacher, so i'd imagine she practices a *lot*). because we also have scent glands, of a sort, in *our* paws. that is, our fingertips excrete sweat and oils that we don't smell (or don't notice most of the time), but many animals can and do. i'm not saying the cat doesn't respond to music and sound, doesn't seek that out, but i would argue that it's secondary to her desire to bond with her human by mixing scents.
